bARBARA SHOUP - HOOSIER AUTHOR
Barbara Shoup is an Indiana author with nine published novels under her belt. A new release is coming October 2024 (maybe at the author dinner...).
In addition to her books she also writes poetry and essays which have appeared in magazines, The Writer and The New York Times travel section.
Her young adult novels, Wish You Were Here and Stranded in Harmony were selected as American Library Association Best Books for Young Adults.
Vermeer’s Daughter was a School Library Journal Best Adult Book for Young Adults.

Shoup graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington (Hoosier through and through!!) with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in secondary education. For over twenty years, Shoup taught creative writing to high school students. Currently, Shoup is the Writer-in-Residence at the Indiana Writers Center and a creative writing faculty member of Art Workshop International in Assisi.
