Encourage the life-long love of learning through reading
Operation Read is a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to literacy. We believe reading is the foundation for lifelong learning and opportunity. We want every child and family—regardless of income or background—to have access to books, reading programs, and supportive environments that foster a love of reading. We accomplish this through free book distribution, literacy-focused events, reading challenges, school partnerships, and family engagement programs that make reading fun, accessible, and meaningful. We track reading engagement data, measure program reach and participation, and ensure transparency in our program and funding decisions.
Vision Statement
Acquire a combo bookmobile/mobile tutor lab to provide easier access to books for families in poverty AND provide easier access to tutors for those in need.
